After AC/DC clears the stage, the pyro explodes and the song continues to play as Don West and Mike Tenay are shown sitting back down and welcoming us to TNA: Against All Odds 2009, where one of the biggest matches in TNA history will happen: Sting vs. Mick Foley for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. They quickly run through the match card.
TNA Knockout's Championship: Awesome Kong (c) vs. Traci Brooks vs. Taylor Wilde
Awesome Kong comes out to heat from the live crowd, she slowly walked down the extra long ramp for the event in Miami, Florida. Kong gets in the ring and holds the TNA Knockout's title over her head before almost throwing the belt to the outside of the ring. Kong looks directly at the stage.
Taylor Wilde comes out to a loud pop from the crowd as she runs down into the ring, she glances at Kong before jumping onto the ropes and pointing out into the crowd, the crowd pops again as Wilde jumps down and slides to the outside of the ring.
Traci Brooks comes out to major heat, more then Kong's heat from the last few weeks from the shows. Brooks gets in the ring and a highlight video shows her past two victories over the past two weeks. Brooks makes title belt motions and Taylor gets in the ring, and the bell rings.
The three knockouts look at each other for a moment before Kong and Brooks go for Wilde, who quickly ducks and slides out of the ring, shaking her fingers at the two heels, who quickly start to fight with each other. Kong hits a hard clothesline and goes for the cover.
Brooks gets the shoulder up and Taylor jumps onto the rope and hits a hard drop kick onto Kong, which Traci turns into a roll-up, Kong breaks free at the one count and Taylor hits Traci in the back of the head, sending her to the outside of the ring. Taylor poses on the ropes before getting a hard punch from Kong.
Kong picks Taylor up a few moments later, who tries to fight her way out of Kong's grip, but Kong throws her across the ring, a quick shot shows Traci starting to recover on the outside of the ring. Taylor slides between Kong's legs and rolls her up for a two count.
Traci slowly slides back into the ring, and immediatly gets hit with a giant kick to the gut from Kong, who responds by lifting her on her shoulders for the Awesome Bomb, by Taylor hits a drop kick once more, and Kong drops Traci, who stumbles against the ropes. Kong now has Taylor on her shoulders.
Awesome Kong hits the Awesome Bomb on Taylor Wilde! She turns it into a pin, and Traci hits a hard kick to Kong's head, making Kong literally fall out of the pin, and Traci goes for the cover on Taylor and gets the three count!!
Traci screams in victory as she holds the TNA Knockout's title over her head. Traci gets out of the ring as Kong recovers and holds the title over her head once more as she stands on the ramp, the announcers are almost in shock that Kong was only champion for one month.
The Announcers plug another AC/DC performance before the Main Event, and say that the Singapore Cane on a Pole match is after the X-Division title match, and a short highlight video shows Nash's and Joe's short build up.
X-Division Championship: Alex Shelley (c) vs. Rhino
Alex Shelley comes out to a loud pop from the crowd, the announcers say that after this match, Chris Sabin will be in a backstage interview about his attack on Shelley a few weeks on iMPACT. Shelley gets in the ring and holds the title up high, Don West says that he'd be pissed off if Shelley lost his title tonight. "He's been a great champion."
Rhino comes out to a large pop as well, but not as loud as Shelley's. The announcers tease the Rhino/Foley match at Destination-X, they also note that Rhino didn't have any luck scoring gold last month at Genesis when he lost both a X-Division and a World Heavyweight title match.
Rhino slides into the ring and the ref calls for the bell to ring, Shelley and Rhino shake hands and then lock up, Rhino over-powers Shelley and slams him down to the mat and turning the slam into an armbar. Shelley quickly breaks the move.
Shelley rebounds off the ropes, but Rhino hits a German Suplex by reversing the move. Rhino goes for the cover and gets the two count. The crowd starts to chanting for a GORE. Rhino gets in the corner and calls for Shelley to get up and the crowd pops.
Shelley gets up and Rhino charges, but Shelley rolls out of the way and Rhino bangs into the turnbuckle, his shoulder slamming into the metal part. Shelley rolls him up but only gets a two count, the crowd becomes divided on who they want to win. Shelley and Rhino both look at the crowd with smirks on their faces.
Shelley quickly rolls up Rhino again when Rhino turns his back, getting heat from the crowd, but the crowd pops when Rhino turns the roll-up into his favor, but Shelley only gets a two count. Shelley looks at Rhino confused.
Sabin runs into the ring and starts to beat on Shelley, and the ref rings the DQ bell. Rhino looks angry and quickly Gores Sabin, getting a loud pop from the crowd. Mike Tenay screams "I THINK THE INTERVIEW IS CANCELED! GORE! GORE! GORE!" Rhino stands over Sabin and then helps Shelley up.
Rhino hands the title to Shelley and holds his hand up. Shelley and Rhino smirk at each other, and Shelley gets out of the ring, letting Rhino pose on the crowd. Shelley heads backstage and a replay of the Gore onto Sabin is shown. Don West and Mike Tenay quickly plug that Abyss and Matt Morgan are arguing backstage!
Backstage: Abyss and Matt Morgan
"Who the hell do you think you are Abyss? Calling of the shots tonight, well you know what, I don't think so. We WILL become the TNA Tag Team Champions tonight!" Morgan yells. Abyss looks angry under his mask.
"I'm not calling any shots, you are the one who is so obsessed with the tag team titles. I want to be TNA Heavyweight champion, but i'm not ready for it, THATS WHY WE'RE A TAG TEAM!" Abyss yells back. Morgan slaps him and Abyss looks ready to burst.
"I'll see you out there...buddy." Morgan says and walks off stage, the tag team title match is plugged to be later in the night, but Joe/Nash is plugged to be up next.
Singapore Cane on a Pole Match: Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash
Joe comes out to a large pop from the crowd, the camera zooms in on the canes that are hanging on four of the turnbuckles in the ring. The announcers say that the first man to get one of the canes, will have a quick advantage over the opponent, and possibly win the match.
Kevin Nash comes out to major heat from the crowd. The announcers go over the history between these two men, starting when they had a student-teacher relationship, and how much it changed to becoming to this level, where weapons are getting involved.
The bell rings and Joe quickly hits a strong punch onto Nash, who stumbles back, Joe throws Nash into the turnbuckle, Nash responds by trying to grab one of the canes, but Joe pulls him out of the turnbuckle and kicks him in the gut. Joe goes for a DDT, but Nash catches him and hits a suplex.
Nash goes for one of the canes, but Joe springs back up and hits him in the back a few times. Joe slaps Nash right in the face, Nash responds by spitting in Joe's face, getting heat from the crowd. Joe goes nuts and hits a hard clothesline and goes for the cover, he gets a two count.
Joe hits a leg drop on Nash, and then punches him in the head quite a few times, Joe lets out a war cry before going for a cane, but Booker T runs through the crowd and kicks Joe right in the face before breaking back through the crowd. Joe falls and Nash stumbles into another turnbuckle.
Nash pulls a cane down quickly and gets heat from the crowd, Nash has a evil look on his face as he pulls Joe to his feet, and then smacks Joe right in the gut with the cane, Joe screams, and Nash hits him in the back, a red mark is on Joe's chest, when Nash rolls him over for the pin.
He only gets a two count and the crowd pops loudly. Nash picks up the cane again and holds up in the air, getting heat from the crowd, but Joe hits a low-blow onto Nash, Nash falls over and Joe picks up the cane, the crowd pops.
Joe tries to swing at Nash, but hits the referee by mistake! Joe looks confused on where Nash is, Joe turns around and hits smacked in the face with a different cane, and the crowd gives Nash heat. Nash picks up Joe for a Powerbomb, and it connects. Another referee quickly runs into the ring.
Nash gets the three count on Joe, the crowd boo's, and the announcers seem shocked that Joe lost so easily. Nash picks up the two canes and holds them up over his head. Nash then starts to beat down on Joe, and smacks him over and over with the canes, and then smacks the ref with one.
Security runs down but they all meet a similar fate, Nash drops the canes and gets out of the ring, leaving the ring in a pool of bodies, with Joe in the center of the ring. The crowd is silent, and the announcers are talking softly, to sell the horrible event that occured.
Backstage: AJ Styles
"So...Kevin Nash, you want to try and take out every man who went out to that ring tonight, you think you're all badass because you beat Samoa Joe, you didn't prove anything tonight...thats why on iMPACT this Thursday, you will face me in a singles match, and see if you can take me out!" Styles yells. The crowd pops, until Jarrett walks on screen.
"AJ...you better stop talking shit about the Mafia, because you are going to lose everything you hold close to you, starting with every single TNA Championship...and next month, at Destination-X, you will be in the Ultimate X match, and if you don't win then...well...lets say it'll be a very, very bad fall." Jarrett says. "See you tonight." he finishes and walks off screen, getting major heat from the crowd.
The announcers plug the finals of the X-Division tournament to be up next, and a shot shows Sabin walking towards the ramp, holding his gut. The crowd gives him major heat.
X-Division Tournament Finals: Chris Sabin vs. BG James
BG James comes out to a large pop from the crowd, the announcers recap his stunning one victory in the tournament, and how he most likely wouldn't be in the match if Jarrett hadn't taken Joe out of the match.
Chris Sabin comes out to major heat from the live crowd. Sabin makes title belt motions, but holds his gut a little from the gore earlier in the night. A replay video shows Sabin's run-in, which lead to the gore that hurt him so much.
The announcers note that the winner of this match gets a free X-Division title match whenever they want in the next two months, as well as a immediate spot in the X-Division championship Ultimate-X match at Destination-X.
Sabin gets in the ring and the bell sounds off, and Sabin quickly goes for James, who ducks and hits a few strong punches to Sabin's gut, Sabin stumbles and the crowd pops, as James hits a snap DDT. James goes for the cover, but only gets a one count.
Sabin trys to recover, but James rolls him up, for a two count this time, Sabin runs towards the ropes and bounces off of them to hit a strong kick to the gut, James stumbled to one knee, Sabin hit a clothesline and went for the cover, two count.
Sabin picks up James, but James rakes him in the eyes, getting an unusual pop from the crowd. James then goes for his new finisher, the BGDT, which was a DDT off of the second rope, Sabin pushes James off, and hits a flying clothesline.
Sabin gets ready for the superkick, James gets up and Sabin connects strongly, the crowd boo's as Sabin gets the three count on James. Sabin holds his gut with one hand while the referee holds his hand up in the air. Alex Shelley walks out onto the ramp, and the two glare at each other before Shelley heads backstage.
TNA World Tag Team Championship: Beer Money (c) vs. Matt Morgan and Abyss
Beer Money comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd, they hold their titles up in the air, and ride together down to the ring on the Boozer Crusier. Storm and Roode get in the ring and do the BEER MONEY yell before waiting for their opponents.
Matt Morgan walks out about a minute before Abyss, the announcers remind us about their arguement before, but how they still want to win the tag team titles by the end of the night, wether they are friends or not.
Roode and Morgan are starting off the match. Roode hits a few kicks to Morgan's shin, before tagging in Storm, who slowly gets in the ring, and Morgan charges, but Storm ducks and Roode punches Morgan in the face.
Storm tries to roll-up Morgan, but only gets a two count, Abyss calls out for a tag, but Morgan shakes his head and gets a kick to the gut by Storm, who hits Morgan with a DDT, and goes for the cover, he only gets another two count.
Morgan pushes Storm off for a moment, and leans against the ropes, Abyss tags himself in, and Morgan looks angry, Abyss hits a clothesline on Storm, and follows up with a suplex, making the crowd pop for the team.
Abyss sets up for the shock treatment, but Morgan tags himself in, and Abyss drops Storm, Morgan yells at Abyss, and Abyss punches Morgan in the face, and then hits him with a chokeslam, the crowd pops loudly as Abyss hits the black hole slam on Storm, and then another one onto Roode.
Abyss pulls Morgan over Storm, and gets the three count!! Abyss and Matt Morgan win the TNA tag team titles, but how can they work together after this controversial ending. Abyss heads up the ramp with both championships in his hands, as Morgan starts to recover in the ring.
The ring announcer welcomes AC/DC back to the stage!
The ring becomes un-covered again, and the crowd is forced to go back to their seats. AC/DC thanks everyone for coming to the event, and that this means nothing to their relationship with WWE, but they just like to perform for awesome live crowds. The band leaves the stage, and slap a few hands before heading backstage.
Street Fight 'Main Event Risk' Match: AJ Styles vs. Jeff Jarrett
AJ Styles comes out to a loud pop from the crowd. He comes out with a chair in his hand, and he slightly smacks his head with it a few times, making the crowd pop louder.AJ slides into the ring and poses for the crowd.
Jeff Jarrett comes out to major heat from the crowd, he has his guitar in his hand as he makes his way down to the ring. AJ runs out of the ring and attacks him on the ramp, and the bell rings to start the match. AJ goes for a DDT onto the metal ramp, but Jarrett pushes him off.
AJ charges right into a clothesline from Jarrett. Jarrett starts to kick Styles in the gut. Jarrett picks up AJ and throws him up the ramp. AJ screams when his back hits the metal. Jarrett goes for the cover, the ref runs up and counts a two.
Jarrett picks up AJ, who fights back and hits a DDT onto the ramp, then goes for a cover of his own. Jarrett gets his shoulder up at the two. AJ kicks his arm a few times before walking towards the ring and grabbing his chair.
AJ turns around and gets punched in the jaw, AJ drops the chair and Jarrett punches him in the face multiple times, the crowd gives Jarrett heat when he slams styles onto the ground, and places him in a sleeper hold. Styles's back is red from the metal of the ramp.
Jarrett lets go of AJ and throws him into the ring, Jarrett pulls up the ring skirt, and pulls out a 2x4, the crowd gives him major heat, as Jarrett slides into the ring and stalks a recovering AJ. AJ turns around and gets hit across the head with the piece of wood and falls right back down.
Jarrett goes for the cover, and gets a two count, Jarrett looks shocked, and then takes the 2x4 to the outside of the ring, where Jarrett lifts the ringskirt again and pulls out a cord of barbwire.
The crowd starts to chant ECW as Jarrett wraps the barbwire around the piece of wood, and then pops loudly as AJ jumps over the top rope and clotheslines Jarrett, he then poses for the crowd, and gets a better reaction. AJ picks up the barbwire piece of wood and throws it down.
AJ picks up Jarrett's guitar and prepares to hit him with it, when Booker T appears, for the second time in the night, and pulls the guitar away from AJ, AJ attacks Booker and gets the Guitar back, AJ turns right into another clothesline from Jarrett, as Booker quickly heads backstage.
AJ gets up quickly and hits a drop kick onto Jarrett, the crowd pops and AJ stalks Jarrett with a chair, Styles smacks the chair right over Jarrett's head, but Scott Steiner attacks him from behind. Steiner lifts AJ on his shoulders, but AJ jumps down and hits the Pele onto Steiner.
AJ poses over Steiner and avoids another clothesline from Jarrett, and sets Jarrett up for the Styles Clash, but Steiner low-blows AJ, and Jarrett hits the stroke, right onto the metal of the ramp. AJ is bleeding severly, and Jarrett orders Steiner to lift him up. Jarrett picks up the guitar, and gets tons of heat from the crowd.
Jarrett smashes the guitar over AJ's head, and pushes Steiner out of the way and goes for the cover, he gets the three count, and the crowd gasps, and the announcers are shocked. AJ Styles will never get another title shot while he is in TNA! Jarrett and Steiner stand over AJ, and Steiner raises Jarrett's arm.
Backstage: Sting
"So...Mafia...you think you're badass because you have won all of your matches so far tonight...well I hate to tell you this, but you aren't getting a clean sweep. Me and Kurt will retain our titles, and make it a draw for this event...but what you did to AJ Styles was wrong...I will not let it stand, so I have a proposition for you...AJ Styles vs. Scott Steiner at Destination-X, where if AJ wins...he gets his title matches back...you have until iMPACT to respond Mafia." Sting says and then the screen fades to black.
TNA Legend's Championship: Kurt Angle (c) vs. Booker T
Booker T comes out to major heat, the announcers note that Booker is the reason that Samoa Joe lost his match, and was a factor in the street fight match. Booker looks a little shaken up from the shots from AJ, but gets in the ring poses. The announcers also remind us that Booker T is the only other man to hold the Legend's Championship.
Kurt Angle comes out to a large pop from the live crowd. Angle points at Booker and yells something, and then runs down into the ring and twirls around for a moment, with the Legend's title over his head. Angle smirks and throws the belt to the side.
Kurt and Booker glare at each other, and Kurt poses for the crowd one more time before the bell rings. Angle and Booker lock-up to start the match, and Kurt turns the move into a leg-sweep. Kurt screams in Booker's face and kicks him in the gut before posing to the crowd.
Kurt turns around to get a return kick to the gut from Booker who hits a DDT onto him. Booker goes for the cover, and gets a two count. Booker picks up Kurt, who rakes him in the eyes and hits a clothesline, and then stalks Booker for the Angle Slam. Booker stands up, and Kurt goes for the move, but Booker reverses into an Ax Kick, but Kurt catches his leg!
Kurt places Booker into the Ankle lock, and Booker tries to go for the ropes, but Kurt pulls him back out, the crowd is poping loudly, and Kurt pulls up Booker and hits the Angle Slam! Kurt turns around and Kevin Nash is on the ring apron. Kurt pushes him down.
Kurt and the ref have a brief staredown, before Kurt turns his attention back to Booker and goes for the cover, he only gets a two count. Kurt prepares to place Booker back in the submission, but Booker pushes him off and kicks Angle right in the face!
The crowd gives him heat as he goes for the cover on Angle, but only gets a two count. Booker looks frustrated, but quickly break dances. Booker goes for the Axe Kick, but Kurt catches him and turns into an Angle Slam, Kurt goes for the cover, and gets the three count.
Kurt yells in victory as he gets his title handed back to him. Kurt gets on the ropes and holds the title up in the air. Nash pulls Booker to safety, as Kurt invities Nash to get in the ring. Kurt yells again and holds his title up in the air.
Backstage: Mick Foley
"Sting...the fateful moment has arrived, the time that me and you square off for the TNA Heavyweight Championship of the World! I hope you're ready...because once I defeat you for the title, you will be forced to leave TNA for good. Sting...this is my final message to you...good-bye/" Foley says, and walks off the stage.
TNA Heavyweight Championship: Sting (c) vs. Mick Foley
Mick Foley comes out to the most heat so far in the night, Foley flips off the crowd before pulling out a chair from under the ring. Foley grabs a microphone before he slides into the ring, the music slowly fades, but the crowd boo's louder.
"Well...how is everyone tonight? BETTER YET, I don't care!" Foley yells, getting tons of heat from the crowd. "Right now, i'm going to change the stipulation of this match...to a No Holds Barred Match...FOR ME ONLY! BANG BANG MOTHER F'ERS!" Foley yells and throws down the microphone.
Sting comes out to the largest pop of the night. Sting runs down into the ring and drops the title outside the ring itself, the bell rings and Sting quickly punches Foley in the face. Sting hits a clothesline and goes for the cover, he gets a one count.
Foley tries to roll-up Sting, but doesn't even get a one count. Sting and Foley glare at each other for a moment, and Foley takes a dive, and rolls to the outside, Sting follows him, but Foley smacks Sting with a chair.
Foley throws Sting back into the ring, and goes for the cover, he gets another one count. Foley picks up Sting and throws him to the outside. Sting reacts quickly and picks up the chair, but the ref starts to yell at him, Sting looks confused.
Foley kicks Sting in the gut and throws him back inside the ring, the crowd is chanting for Sting to pull it together, but Foley continues to dominate all over the champion. Sting reverses into a cradle roll-up, and gets a two count.
Sting hits a drop kick onto Foley, and WOOOO's to the crowd, which pops louldy. Sting sets Foley up for the Scorpian Death Drop, but Foley reverses and punches Sting in the jaw. Foley rolls out of the ring, and pulls out the Barbwire 2x4 from the Jarrett/Styles match.
Foley creeps into the ring and swings at Sting, who ducks and hits a DDT. The crowd pops, and Sting goes for the cover, but Foley pokes him in the eye, and Foley bangs the piece of barbwire'd wood into Sting's leg.
Sting screams out in pain, and Foley hits him in the back with the barbwire. The ref pulls the weapon away, Foley spits in his face, and Sting low-blows him while the ref isn't looking, Sting goes for the Scorpian Drop, but Foley slips out and punches him in the face a few times.
Booker T runs down the ramp, but gets stopped by Kurt Angle, who slides out from under the ring, the crowd pops, and Foley looks angry, Sting is smirking a little. Scott Steiner comes in from the crowd as well, but AJ Styles attacks him from behind.
The crowd is poping loudly as Sting hits the death drop, but Kevin Nash and Jeff Jarrett get into the ring and start to beat on him. Finally, Samoa Joe runs down the ramp and takes out Nash, leaving Sting and Jarrett to brawl.
Jarrett starts to get the better of Sting, but Sting throws him to the outside of the ring, and Foley rolls him up, but only gets a two count, and the crowd is on their feet, almost praying that Sting retains. Booker throws Kurt into the steps, and runs into the ring.
Foley and Booker gang up on Sting, until Sting finally snaps and gets his black bat from the corner and goes swinging, but hits the referee by mistake! Jim Cornette appears on the ramp with a microphone.
"This is a world title match gentlemen! With this note from the board of directors, MICK FOLEY AND JEFF JARRETT ARE NO LONGER IN POWER! SO THIS MATCH IS NOW A SINGLES MATCH AGAIN! NOW, MAFIA, IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR ASSES OUT OF THERE, I'LL FIRE ALL OF YOU!" Cornette yells, and the crowd pops louldy.
The Mafia quickly retreat, but Foley has the barbwire piece of wood in his hands still. The ref tries to pull it away, but Foley turns around and smacks Sting with it, and the ref rings the bell, the match ends in a DQ! Foley has a cold look in his eyes.
Foley steals the TNA title and holds it up, before getting out of the ring and throwing the belt off the stage, and the belt cracks, right on impact. Foley walks backstage, as Sting is shown trying to recover.
The crowd chants for sting to get up, but the announcers slowly start to close the show, telling viewers to watch iMPACT for the fall-out from Against All Odds.
